Who is the student homemaker?

I’m a 21 year old student living in Manchester, UK, and studying Computer Science.  My residence this year is a flat with my fiance, BP.
I’ve also lived in various halls - catered/uncatered, cleaned/inspected, nurturing/simplistic.

BP and I are attempting to be a modern family.  He’s a very family-oriented man and I’m fond of traditional living.
The challenges for us are to maintain family stability amid our demanding courses (I’m constantly meeting deadlines after deadlines… and he’s on two fast-track language courses). 
Also, I’ve never considered myself able to cook much before last September, although I’ve been interested in food since I was about 15. 
Finally, we need to work on a tight budget.  I don’t like to spend more than £20 on groceries, and there’s a little money for treats.  Student loan doesn’t go much further than housing, and textbooks are expensive.

So, here’s us…
Our experiments and adventures into food, modern/traditional living, and learning to survive without the care of our parents….
