For breakfast, had leftover pizza - I always crave pizza if there’s leftovers in the house. And BP didn’t mind a bit, since he found this bought pizza not right for him, but he was eating it last night instead of my supernoodles.
Didn’t eat all of the lunchbox - the cheese slices were terrible. I knew it lacked protein, but I guess I had in my mind that I could leave at lunchtime to go back home anyway.
Forgetting my train snackbox was a big mistake, causing me to spend lots of money on little, non-nutritious food. I’ll not make this mistake next week.
Also, I have no idea what drove me to miss dinner. That’s really not like me to miss meals. But for once, I ate my bedtime snack.
So - recap:
Daily servings of fruit and veg: 2 (could have been improved with a proper dinner and snack)
Daily servings of dairy: 3
Daily servings of high-fibre: 3, without fruit/veg: 1
Weekly servings so far fish: 2
Weekly servings so far high-iron:4

Roundup
I didn’t think my food-choices were influenced as much by my student life-style.
Time and cost is an issue, as in most student households, but I didn’t believe I cooked much differently from families on a budget.
The presence of the freezer foods, and especially the supernoodles, showed this up. This is no-effort, no-skill food that is only a side-step from the baked beans on toast (not going there - can’t stand the stuff).
Next week, I’m trying to use more fresh ingredients, although this is always a struggle for me because I can’t get out to do another shop weekly, and can’t have it delivered.
Coming soon - BP and I try out the Wholegrain Diet. He will be trying to lose weight, I will be trying to gain the health benefits.
