Day 3 - student meal-planning

6 April 2008 · No Comments

Saturday: 5/4/8

Breakfast Just me Toasted oatcake and cheese
Snack For me Flapjack
Lunch Me
Tomato soup and a roll
Apple
Snack2 Me Leftover fruit salad
Dinner Me
Rainbow trout with seed topping
Couscous and green beans
Rainbow buns
Snack3 Me Ice cream and sauce

I played today by ear - my mum came to visit and we were out in town most of the day.

Bread and Jam
For breakfast, BP had bought a bagette that didn’t want hanging around, so I ate some of that with butter and jam.

Mum and I went to Varsity for lunch - its a student style gastropub. I had some spaghetti bolognese and mum had a fish bake.

I tryed to follow the plan for dinner, but I took out some salmon instead of rainbow trout, because I really prefer salmon, it’s just that trout is cheaper. Forgot to do the green beans, though. Didn’t do the rainbow buns, but got an iced finger from Greggs for dessert - it’s a delicious sweet bread with a dash of icing. Think Chelsea bun without the dried fruit.

I guess I still wasn’t feeling 100%, because I didn’t feel like eating much today

So - recap:
Daily servings of fruit and veg: 1 (Oops again)
Daily servings of dairy: 1
Daily servings of high-fibre: 2, without fruit/veg: 1
Weekly servings so far fish: 2
Weekly servings so far high-iron:3

Other news - my darn bathroom light is on the blink - literally. And now I have to wait until Monday to report it, so it might be a long time getting fixed. I really regret being in halls yet again right now
