Menu Planning

1 April 2008 · 7 Comments

Here’s my attempt at a menu plan for Thursday 3rd to Wednesday 9th.
In order to maximise my budgeting, I plan all the food I eat, except I do leave some money for extras during the week.

Thursday: 3/4/08
Notes:  Micro-omelette as I did in this bento (Bento #2).  The oatcakes I refer to are derbyshire oatcakes, they’re really cheap and a local food to my parents’ area.

Breakfast Just me Micro-omelette and wafer-thin ham
Snack For me Toasted Oatcake
Lunch Me
Leftover tomato soup
Leftover mandarin segments
Snack2 Me Grapes
Dinner Me
White fish fingers
Chips and green beans
Cinnamon baked apple
Snack3 Me Yoghurt pot

 Friday: 4/4/08
Notes: Rolls are only bought in my house when needed as I’ve been caught too many times letting them go off.  BP likes good sausages - I’m not fussy, but of course I’ll eat the good ones with him.  I’ll be cooking the flapjacks that afternoon - BP loves them.

Breakfast Just me Weetabix and sugar
Snack For me Toasted oatcake
Lunch Me
Lunchbox practise
Wrap with chicken and mayo
Yoghurt
Apple
Orange
Snack2 Me Dried fruit
Dinner Me and BP
Picnic in the park
Sausages in hot dog rolls
Baked crisp snacks
Fruit salad of grapes and orange segments
Dried fruit flapjack
Snack3 Me Yoghurt pot

Saturday: 5/4/8
Notes:  I always have soup for weekend lunch with fresh bought rolls.  If there’s no leftover fruit salad, I’ll have an orange.   Rainbow trout was bought as a trial - so I’m not sure about it.  I’ll be baking the rainbow cakes today.

Breakfast Just me Toasted oatcake and cheese
Snack For me Flapjack
Lunch Me
Tomato soup and a roll
Apple
Snack2 Me Leftover fruit salad
Dinner Me
Rainbow trout with seed topping
Couscous and green beans
Rainbow buns
Snack3 Me Ice cream and sauce

Sunday: 6/4/08
Notes: Like to start the day with a large breakfast.  No morning snack because I’m at church.  Couscous salad always made the day after I have the hot couscous.  Always like to have a roast dinner, with all the trimmings.  I love puddings and custard, so I’ll be dumping custard over a rainbow bun.

Breakfast Just me Micro-omelette and wafer-thin ham
Lunch Me
Leftover soup and roll
Couscous salad
Snack2 Me Orange
Dinner Me and BP
Roast chicken
Roast potatoes, stuffing, yorkshire pudding
Rainbow bun and custard
Snack3 Me Yoghurt pot

Monday: 7/4/08
Notes:  My first two snacks are tied into the lunchbox.  Dietician says to maximise things in there.  Hoping to dip the green beans in the chutney part of the splendips.  My pizza recipe here. BP likes garlic bread, too, he has a much bigger appetite than me.

Breakfast Just me Weetabix and sugar
Lunch Me
Roast leftovers in yorkshire puddings
Chipsticks crisps
Flapjack
Rainbow bun
Yoghurt pot
Splendips chive
Green beans to dip
Raisin snack

Tuesday: 8/4/08
Notes:  Chicken wrap from any further leftover roast chicken, or ham if there isn’t any.

Breakfast Just me Weetabix and sugar
Lunch Me
Chicken wrap
Bacon frazzles
Flapjack
Rainbow bun
Cheese and pickle dip
Apple
Raisin snack
Dinner Me and BP
Pan fried pork
Spring greens and mashed potato
Carmellised apples
Snack3 Me Yoghurt pot

Wednesday: 9/4/08
Notes:  Taking a snack for on the train, because I know I’ll be hungry.  I know my parents always have jelly and cream, and I can bring a pasta and sauce.  I go dancing afterwards, so I like something full-on carbs.

Breakfast Just me Weetabix and sugar
Lunch Me
Ham and micro-omelette
Chipstick crisps
Flapjack
Rainbow bun
Yoghurt pot
Leftover spring greens
Apple
Snack2 Me - on the train

Pasta and sauce
Jelly and cream
Snack3 Me Yoghurt pot
