My Fantastic Perfect-Every-Time Pizza

19 March 2008 · 3 Comments

I’m at home for my Easter break, lapping up the home instead of halls environment.  I made my pizza for me and my dad, and he loves it!

Normally, I only make pizza for me, because BP is fussy about cheese.  It was fantastic to have someone else’s view, and I was chuffed he liked it.  Dad is really un-exotic in his food - he’s a bit of a meat and two veg man.  Mum’s jealous - and she’s sulking because she passed her opportunity to try some.  For the record, she and I have a dance class tonight, and she never likes to eat dinner before it.  So for those who are anxious for the recipe, here it is:

Makes 1 pizza serving 2:
1 sachet of dry pizza dough mix, and the other ingredients to make it up
4 tablespoons tomato pasta sauce
1 ball mozzarella
Your favourite extra toppings ( I like mushrooms and/or cheddar cheese)

1) Pre-heat oven to 220C.

2)  Make up the pizza dough mix according to the pack instructions.  Push it into a baking tray/baking sheet, filling the majority of the space, and let it rest 10 minutes.  You can also pull the dough in half, making each dough piece fill half the baking sheet, for individual pizzas.

3) Spread the pasta sauce over the pizza, as close to the edges as you can.

4) Add your chosen toppings.  This time I used chopped mushroom.

5) Cut the mozarella ball into 6 slices and lay over.

6) Bake on top shelf of your oven, until the cheese is melted and the base cooked through.  This takes around 10-15 minutes, depending on the efficiency of your oven.

If you try this yourself, let me know.  I’d love to hear how you like it with your favourite toppings, or how the rest of your family like it.  Photo coming next time I make it - if I can stop everyone from diving in before I take the photo!
